Was just reading about your post on life in a children’s home. Me being only 28 now but having grown up seeing that home across from Mars High School had often wondered about the place.
I’m curious if you know what the name was of the children’s home located atop a hill between Valencia and Saxonburg on Dinnerbell Rd? It is currently operating as Shelbourne Assisted Living; but I know that back in the 50’s-60’s it was a children’s home and I am interested in researching it.

I’m sorry that I can’t help you. I was quite young back then and wasn’t really aware of much outside of the Children’s Home where I lived and Mars High School that was just across the street. I’m sure that if you keep searching the internet, eventually you will stumble upon someone who grew up there. Maybe the current place can give you some guidance on where to look. Good luck on your research.
