* Stories coming soon!

Updates!

Hi Everyone!  It’s been awhile since I posted, mostly because nothing really noteworthy has happened lately.  I thought I’d take a little time now to update you anyway.

The Job!

Still no start date yet but I have been assured that I will be working very soon.  I’m so gullible!

Health!

Several of the health issues that I had been having lately, seem to have gotten straightened out and I am feeling great these days.  Just hope it stays that way.

Resolutions!

As you can see, I have been a little (very) lazy with my writings.  On the other hand, I have been walking between 2 and 3 miles a day,  four or five days a week.  I’m also still eating mostly salads for lunch.

Sleeping like a baby!

Many of you know that we had been complaining about the hard mattress (boxspring) that we had been sleeping on.  Well, we ordered a couple of latex toppers and after six weeks we finally received them.  It’s not quite as good as a whole latex bed but it is 100% better than what we were using.

Upcoming Vacations!

We’re starting to talk about taking some trips to Asia.  One of the main reasons for moving here was to be able to travel and see some of this part of the world.  This is very exciting for both of us.

A Special Thanks!

To Francie, my sister-in-law who managed to get a slide (that I’ve had for almost 40 years) turned into a digital picture and e-mail it to me within hours of receiving it.  Who knew that a small place like Homer, Alaska would have such resources.  They certainly don’t here!

Until next time, stay well and be happy :)

Mañagaha!

Mañagaha

Mañagaha is a small islet which lies off the west coast of Saipan within its lagoon. Although it has no permanent residents, Mañagaha is popular among Saipan’s tourists and locals as a day-trip destination due to its wide sandy beaches and a number of marine activities including snorkeling, parasailing and jet skiing.

Managaha Ferry

Managaha Ferry

While much of Tom’s free time is spent biking, sailing, swimming or golfing with the guys, he decided to join me and three of my girlfriends, Masha, Linda and Theresa (who I frequently do lunch, happy hours or the spa with) and spend Sunday on Mañagaha  We all boarded the ferry at 10 AM and arrived there twenty minutes later.

We found a nice spot on the beach, under some palm trees, to plant ourselves for the day, then all headed off in different directions to explore the island.  It takes all of fifteen minutes to walk around the beaches of the entire island.

We spent the morning swimming and snorkeling (and there were plenty of nice fish to see) before heading off to lunch.  They have a nice buffet lunch as well as a regular menu and the food was pretty good.

After lunch Theresa and I decided that we would like to get a massage in a covered hut on the beach.  It was the first massage that I have had since my surgery so it was a real treat.

After more swimming and snorkeling and just enjoying the beach we headed back to Saipan. (our mainland)  We had an incredibly fun and relaxing day.

On another subject or two!

I’ve been called to get fingerprinted and do my police clearance for the US Census so I  (hopefully) will be working soon.  No start date is set yet.  Even though I interviewed for two different jobs with them, I have requested working in the office so that my days off and hours will be the same as Toms.

I’ve also finished another story called Car Accident #2, if you’re interested in reading it.  If I do start work soon, my stories will be put on the back burner for awhile, but that’s okay, that’s life.

A Week of Turmoil…

I found myself in the emergency room this past Monday.  It seems that a new medication that I had recently been given, was not working as planned and I had a scary reaction.  I also seem to be having some new nerve/spine problems.  This island is not the place you want to be during an emergency.  I’ve recently learned that the island does not have a Dermatologist, Cardiologist, Neurologist, Neurosurgeon or an MRI machine.  I believe that this information will force us back to the mainland a little sooner than we had originally planned.  I am hoping to be able to hold out until at least July.

In spite of this information, I had another job interview and also received a call from another potential employer asking when I might be available for training…. still no concrete offer.

In spite of the negative news, I managed to finish two new, upbeat, fun stories.  The first one is Taxi Driver – The Movie and the second one is The Pussycat & the Magician.

I hope you enjoy them!

The “Reader’s Digest” versions…

As you can see I am moving right along with my stories.

I’ve spoken with a few friends who have expressed that they would like to read a little more in-depth information about some of the subjects.  I certainly understand this and I do plan to go back when I have finished writing all of the stories and do more in-depth revisions on some of them.  I’m afraid that if I tried to do that now, I may never get all of the “Reader’s Digest” versions done.  I know that by getting all of this information onto my website now, that I can travel anywhere in the world and not have to worry about lugging information around with me or possibly losing it.  (I am missing several years of diaries and several pages of outlines and don’t want to lose anymore)

I’ve added two more stories to read.  The first one is about my time at Atlantic Records and the second one is about when I worked for Emerson Lake & Palmer in London.  I hope you enjoy them!

An Upbeat Story…

The last four stories that I’ve written, have been of a “somewhat serious and depressing nature.”  They happened during a very hard time in my life.

Good news!  After the age of twenty, things started to change (for the better) in my life, so I’ve started to write about some happier times.  If you’d like to hear about my experience with “the lead singer of the Archies,” and how I ended up moving to New York City then you’ll want to read my story Sugar Sugar.

Enjoy!!!
