I’ve received a couple of complaints lately, so I’d like to take the time to address those complaints in this post:
“I come to your blog daily but sometimes there is nothing new written. Is there any way that I can find out if you wrote something new for the day, without constantly checking back?”
Yes! You can subscribe to my updates by E-MAIL or by the POSTS feeds in the upper right hand corner, just choose your option. Enter your E-mail address or feed address and when I write something new, you will receive an update shortly thereafter. Don’t worry about getting too many updates, I’m quite busy and don’t post everyday.

I finally had a chance today to sit down today and write a few things about my good friend, Renée. If you’re at all involved in the poker world, I’m sure you will recognize both the name and the face. Yes, she’s been seen playing poker on television at more than one final table.
Take a few minutes to read about “Renée.” I think that you’ll agree that she is one Special Lady!

Have you ever thought about becoming a professional actress? Do you dream about standing on the Broadway stage, having the entire audience on their feet, cheering “Bravo” as you take your bows? Maybe you can see yourself walking the red carpet, being interviewed right before you go into your big “Premier.” If you ever truly considered it, then I am sure that at one time or another, you have given your “Academy Award” speech, into a hairbrush, in front of a mirror, right?
Well, I never thought about these things until after I actually became an actress. Maybe it’s because I had never planned on it. It just sort of happened by accident. No, I wasn’t discovered sitting on a stool in some coffee shop, as the legend goes for so many older stars. I also wasn’t hanging out with Paris Hilton, the newer way to become discovered.
If you would like to hear about how I got my first real acting job and even see a video of it, read “Actress – My Sag Card.“ I hope you enjoy it!
I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day Weekend. I have friends in town, so I’ll be taking a break and spending some time with them.
I had planned to spend some time this past week writing about some of my friends. I even managed to get some pictures together that I could use. My scanner had other plans. Now I’m in the process of looking for a new scanner. When I get my scanner, I’ll get those stories written.
Don’t eat too much this weekend, remember, bathing suit season is upon us! (That last sentence was meant for me)
It’s been more than thirty years since I saw Joe Cocker perform. He had a string of hits and was packing the house back then.
I don’t go to see many artists who were major stars back in the 70’s. Quite frankly, most of them don’t live up to my expectations. I don’t expect them to look like they did, sing at their peak or have the energy that they did thirty years ago, as some artists have totally lost their voice, can’t remember the words and look like they barely have the enthusiasm to get through the set. I guess, some things are better left to memory.

When I decided to put my stories on the Internet, I had no idea that putting advertisements on my site was an option. I thought I would just write my stories, post them and maybe someone would drop by to read them.

It’s still very much alive. I spent and hour and a half today, watching the Sun City Dance Company of Las Vegas perform sixteen different tap numbers. This is a large group of men and women (mostly women), who range in age from 55 years old to somewhere in their 90’s. They are simply amazing. They had different costumes and routines for every different song that they tapped to. I went because I have a friend who performed and also because I love tap dancing.

Well, it’s been two weeks since I officially started blogging and putting my stories online. I had originally planned on waiting until I had a lot more written before telling anyone. If any of you are interested in reading my stories, I know that you won’t read them all at once, so you may as well read them as I write them. Also, you may have pictures or info to go with the stories, that I don’t have.

If I had won the lottery or hit Megabucks, then I suppose that it really would be Christmas in May. But I didn’t. I figured that if I wrote a story about Christmas in May, that it might get a little more attention than in December when everyone else on the Internet is writing a Christmas story.
I decided tonight to write the story about the Christmas when I was fifteen years old. While writing it, I almost wish that I had forgotten about it or had suppressed it, but I didn’t. So here it is. If you want to read about it, go to “My Worst Christmas Ever” and read it. I hope all of your Christmas’s are memorable, in a good way!
How tough is it to become a clothing designer? Well, I guess it depends on whether you want to work for yourself or work for somebody else. It also depends on whether you want to be rich and famous or just let your artistic side express itself.
If you are happy working for yourself, then you can start today. You can do it in your spare time. Just make sure that you love what you are doing. If friends notice what you are wearing and like it, then you can make it for them. If the requests don’t flow in, well, you’ll have lots of very personal, one of a kind things.
If you would like to read about my adventure with my own clothing business, read “Giggles – Clothing Designer.”
I’ve never been much of a picture taker. I’ve traveled lots of places and done lots of things, but most of the pictures that I have, are in my head. I never understood why people would take pictures, put them in books, pack them in boxes and put them away. I think this was done more in the past. Today, with cell phones, digital cameras and the internet, pictures are being taken and seen. They’re being shared with the world. They are no longer being packed away for future enjoyment.

I spent most of yesterday putting together the facts about what my life was like when I lived at the Children’s Home in Mars, Pennsylvania. I lived there from the time I was ten years old and until I graduated from High School. I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface on this story. There will be plenty more to come.
If you would like to get a glimpse into what my life was like at the time, read “10 years old to 18 years old” and “My Life in a Children’s Home.”
I want to take this time to wish all of the mom’s out there a Happy Mother’s Day! Unfortunately, I never really knew my mother when she was alive, so I never had the opportunity to share this special day with her.
I’m so very lucky now to have a wonderful mother-in-law to share this special occasion with. Her name is Sarah. She is kind, loving, supportive and a joy to be around.
If your mother is still alive, make sure you let her know today and everyday how much you love and appreciate her. She may not be around forever!
You can’t turn on the TV without seeing a poker show. It’s all over the internet. A few years ago a bill was passed that attempted to halt the playing of poker on the internet. It didn’t work! It’s hard to find a casino that doesn’t have a poker room. It hasn’t always been this way.
I started playing poker in the California card clubs back in the late 70’s. I also played in some home games. I wasn’t very good but I still enjoyed it as a recreational pastime.
After I moved to Las Vegas, I found myself playing in the cardrooms there. While I would win occasionally, it wasn’t enough to pay the bills. I decided to do the next best thing. I became a poker dealer.
If you’d like to hear about this time in my life, please read, “Poker Dealer.”
It’s been a long, long time since I have been this excited about doing something. I wake up early and go to bed late. I’ve been working twelve hours a day for the last week and I’m exhausted. I’m still going through journals (40 years worth) to get the data for some of my stories. I want to be as factual as I can be. I’ve also been going through some of my pictures to see which ones I want to use for my stories. I never like pictures of myself so I’m having trouble finding pictures that I like and want to use.
Anyway, I’m taking a break today and doing some personal things. I’ll be back tomorrow with another story from my life. Subscribe to have updates sent to your E-Mail or your post feed or just keep coming back.

Hi, my name is Billie Walter. I knew that one day I would write the stories of my life. In fact, I was offered a book deal when I was twenty years old but I decided to wait until I was a little older and had a few more life experiences. Since then I've had 5 different name changes, more than 20 different careers and more than 225 different jobs. I've also had a lot more life experiences so I've decided to set up a site where I can share my stories with friends, family and anyone else who is interested in reading them. I hope you enjoy them because they're all true.
